Okanagan Falls, Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, CanadaMcLean Creek Road Vineyard is the organically farmed home block at Meyer Vineyard, grown over a mix of sandy loam and deep gravels and a mix of clones: Pommard (91) and Dijon (114, 115, 667, 777). It is wild fermented and aged 11 months in 25 percent new French oak. Spicy, full-flavoured New World styling with aromatic Damson plums on a long soft, textured finish, this is not terribly complex but very much a crowd-pleaser. I like it with salmon steak, mushroom pasta, or almost any pork dish.
