Domaine Mongeard-Mugneret Savigny-Les-Beaune 1er Cru Les Narbantons 2018

Savigny-lès-Beaune, Côte de Beaune, Côte d'Or, Burgundy, FranceThis family has been cultivating vines for more than 8 generations, since approximately 1620. Today they cultivate 30 hectares of vines across 35 appellations. From 50+ year old vines on the limestone and sandy marls of Les Narbantons, this was aged in 35% new barrels, for up to 18 months. Dusky forest floor and perfumed roses meet in this medium bodied red, with bright red currant acidity carrying wild plum and cherry. Tannins are long and furry, taking this to a warming finish. Tasting a bit tired at this point, and best taken with rabbit and/or wild mushrooms.Tasted: 31 March 2022Tasted by: Treve RingPrices:
