Domaine Mongeard-Mugneret Vosne-Romanée 2018

Vosne-Romanée, Côtes de Nuits, Côte d'Or, Burgundy, FranceThis family has been cultivating vines for more than eight generations since approximately 1620. Today they farm 30 hectares of vines across 35 appellations. It is made from 45-year-old vines on stony limestone marls. It was aged in 40% new oak for up to 18 months. Opening with the characteristic Vosne-Romanée woodsy familiarity, this mixes floral plums, wild blackberry, and perfumed purple florals on a soft, plush, lightly spiced palate. Tannins are well worn into the wine, hugging it through the lingering floral finish. It is drinking smartly now, showing great typicity; ideally, serve with duck or wild mushrooms.Tasted: 31 March 2022Tasted by: Treve RingPrices:
