Tommasi Poggio al Tufo Rompicollo 2017

Maremma, Tuscany, ItalyThis 60 / 40 sangiovese / cabernet sauvignon comes off Tommasi's Tuscan Pitigliano estate, rich in tufa. It was stainless fermented before one year in 65hl Slavonian oak casks. Soft and plush on the palate, with crushed dark plums, blackberry, kirsch jam, dough laced with dusky baking spices and finishing with a flush of warmth. Tannins are soft and velveteen until the bitter cherry, dark chocolate astringency on the finish. Drink now, with hearty rustic stews.Tasted: 17 September 2021Tasted by: Treve RingPrices:
