Joseph Drouhin Cote de Beaune Rouge 2014

Côte de Beaune, Côte d'Or, Burgundy, FranceThe fruit is all estate from a 3-hectare site, as well as from the younger vines of Clos des Mouches and other Premier Crus of Beaune that have been declassified. The vineyard density of the massal selected clones is from 10,000 to 12,500 vines. Winemaking is minimal as is the new oak, capped at 10 percent. The style is all Cote de Beaune: soft and delicate with an almost ethereal fruit ambiance. Smoke, raspberries, moss, mushrooms and a touch of oak tannins melt into the fruit. The finish is dry with hints of leather, game and balsamic. Light and playful in a way New World pinot rarely is. Drink or hold through 2023.Tasted: 24 October 2018Tasted by: Anthony GismondiPrices:
