Clos du Soleil Fumé Blanc 2017

British Columbia, CanadaThis year's Fumé Blanc, always a distinctive wine for BC, is a mix of fruit from Cawston, Keremeos, and Oliver, and uses 83 percent sauvignon blanc and 17 percent sémillon. Full bodied and aromatic, this gathers the Fumé in the name from a light amount of oak contact, which seems to shrink year over year. Whole cluster fruit was fermented slowly and coolly in stainless, vinified separately and then blended. Textural and potent, but held to a moderate 12.8 degrees, with layers of pear, green apple, downy lees, lemon pith, white grapefruit, all drawn along with a stream of acidity.Tasted: 23 July 2018Tasted by: Prices:
