Painted Rock Cabernet Franc

Painted Rock Cabernet Franc 2015

Skaha Bench, Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, CanadaGraphite, dried oregano, bay leaf and sage filters throughout this ripe Skaha Bench estate cabernet franc, seasoning a base of grilled root veg and meat. Potent and dense, with tannins dusted with charcoal coating the mouth and holding in the compact fruit. This earthy, savoury franc spent 18 months in French oak (thirty percent new), building the structure for a few years in the cellar. Indeed, this requires a decant and some hearty fare now (I elect rabbit or venison), or time to fully resolve in the bottle.Tasted: 14 February 2018Tasted by: Prices: BC 44.99 winery direct, private wine shops Producer: Painted Rock Estate WineryDistributors: Winery Direct
