Rodney Strong Cabernet Sauvignon 2014
Sonoma County, California, United StatesRodney Strong Vineyards has become a Sonoma star of late, practising modern, artisanal winemaking on a large scale, while making substantial commitments to the environment. Its SoCo cab comes off three sites from Jimtown, Geyserville and Cloverdale all planted to alluvial, volcanic, and uplifted shale/sandstone soils. A one-month harvest from mid-September to mid-October has spawned a round, easy drinking flavourful cabernet sauvignon with plummy fruit. Baking spices disappear into a dense mix of blackberry, vanilla and coffee/cocoa in the finish, with round, soft tannins. Perfect for hamburgers or meaty pasta dishes. This cabernet spends 15 months in 75% American oak and 25% French oak barrels. Solid.Tasted: 27 January 2017Tasted by: Anthony GismondiPrices:BC | $24.99 | 750ml | BCLS |
