Rodney Strong Cabernet Sauvignon 2013

Sonoma County, California, United StatesA perfect harvest is the base for the 2013 RSCS a mix of fruit from Jimtown to Geyserville and then all the way north to Cloverdale planted to well-drained alluvial, volcanic, and uplifted shale/sandstone soils. There was an initial reductive note that dissipated with time into black cherry, smoky cedar, plum notes. The palate is a dense mix of blackberry, vanilla and coffee/cocoa with a warm cedar/mocha finish. Best with grilled meats.
