Mission Hill Reserve Sauvignon Blanc 2013
Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, CanadaThe warmest vintage since 2003 cooled in September before early rains hit the valley. As a result the picking was delayed, the Hangtime lengthened and the fruit intensified. Winemaker John Simes ferments about 25 per cent of this 100 percent sauvignon wine in French oak and its aged six months sur lie. The fruit come out of Osoyoos & Oliver giving it an unexpected ripeness and fullness of pink grapefruit and gooseberry still with a crisp underside. Lemongrass, nettle creamy lees finish with a touch of dried herbs. Solid shellfish wine.Tasted: 15 February 2015Tasted by: Anthony Gismondi and Stuart TobePrices:BC | $22.00 | 750ml | specialty listing |
