Burrowing Owl Athene 2011

Oliver, Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, CanadaThis is the best Athene we have tasted since its inception. A little less meaty in 2011 the fruit is superb, there are no green notes and spice is under control. The attack is juicy with wonderful balance and elegance and more cherry, smoky, vanilla, cassis and liquorice flavours. Solid from front to back and with this balance it will age superbly. We'll done. Try this with a big USDA steak now or in a decade with roast beef.Tasted: 31 December 2014Tasted by: Anthony GismondiPrices:
