Burrowing Owl Athene 2008
Oliver, Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, CanadaSavoury, meaty, liquorice, coffee, vanilla nose flecked with saddle leather, barnyard, tea, dill and peppery, black olive, resin aromas. The style is dry and slightly lean with a somewhat tart entry. The palate is typical of what we see form Black sage with its smoky, vanilla, savoury, espresso, black olive dominating the cassis and cherry notes with more meaty, peppery, liquorice root and dried herbs flavour. It lacks a bit of fruit, concentration and balance for the price but it should improve in the bottle for another two or three years.Tasted: 27 January 2011Tasted by: Anthony Gismondi and Stuart TobePrices:BC | $35.00 | 750ml | winery direct |
