Blue Grouse Cowichan Station Pinot Gris 2013

Cowichan Valley, Vancouver Island, British Columbia, CanadaPromising direction for Blue Grouse, under new ownership since 2012 and with winemaker Bailey Williamson at the helm. This crisp, maritime-edged pinot gris opens with bright lemon, youthful apricot and white peach. A gentle plumpness in the mid-palate via partial barrel fermentation is a welcome move, the cushion offsetting the tart gooseberry and lean cantaloupe freshness. Spicy, white peach fuzz and a bitter, floral, herbaceous finish. Welcomes pouring with prawns or scallops.Tasted: 09 December 2014Tasted by: Prices:
