Continuum 2008
Napa Valley, California, United StatesThe latest Continuum is dramatically different than its predecessors. The '08 blend is a 71/17/7/5/ cabernet sauvignon/cabernet franc/ petit verdot/merlot. Why the merlot you ask, because it was so damned good according to Tim Mondavi. This is one sleek, linear, mountain red with a stubborn streak of minerality and a pureness of fruit. Now with 70 percent Pritchard Hill fruit Continuum is beginning to look like the wine the Mondavi's envisioned when they move to Pritchard Hill in the eastern hills above St. Helena alongside the likes of Colgin, Bryant Family, David Arthur, Chappellet, Long Vineyards and a host of other famous names. All French oak and precision winemaking have yielded a fabulous, glossy sophisticated red for the decades ahead. Production now up to 2200 cases heading for 6000.Tasted: 16 September 2011Tasted by: Anthony Gismondi and Stuart TobePrices:BC | $185.00 | 750ml | |
