Continuum 2007
Napa Valley, California, United StatesYear three of Continuum Estates received a 20 percent dose of Pritchard Hill fruit but it is still predominately an Oakville cabernet. The blend is a 60/22/18 mix of cabernet sauvignon, cabernet franc and petit verdot. The nose youthful with a real wild blackberry character with big pepper and spice and a strong savoury, black olive and mineral undercurrent. The tannins are beautiful managed perhaps surprising to some younger Napa wine drinkers but the finesse and elegance of winemaker Tim Mondavi is all over this wine. Production is growing with the '07 sitting at about 1500 cases or about a quarter of the projected ceiling. Just a baby but I expect it will age gracefully like most Mondavi wines well into 2025.
