Painted Rock Merlot 2008
Skaha Bench, Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, CanadaChocolate, coffee, vanilla, cherry jam, barnyard, saddle leather, cedar, dried orange peel, tobacco, menthol aromas. Dry, tight, slightly lean entry with some grippy youthful tannins but good extract. Flecks of orange and coffee and vanilla permeates its peppery, chocolate, black cherry, tobacco, mineral, cedar flavours with a touch crushed olives. It appears to be shutting down for the moment and will need two to four years before emerging to show its stuff.
