Insoglio del Cinghiale 2005
Bolgheri, Tuscany, ItalyInsoglio del Cinghiale is the base wine of the Lodovico Antinori Tenuta di Biserno project at Bibbona in the northern Maremma region. It was created to be the wine you drink while you wait for its big brother: Biserno. The earlier style is fairly rustic with gamy meaty aromas and even some Brettanomyces. the '05 follows the savoury theme with black cherry, cardamom and smoky, garrigue notes throughout. Sage and a bit of black olive mark the finish. Best with mushroom dishes now or let it age another two to three years.Tasted: 23 September 2009Tasted by: Anthony Gismondi and Stuart TobePrices:BC | $43.00 | 750ml | specialty listing |
