Penfolds Cabernet Shiraz Bin 389 1994
South Australia, AustraliaThis is the year 389 lives up to its moniker as the poor man's Grange. Lots of stuff here - ripe plum, vanilla, spice, pepper, violet, blackberry jam, mint and plenty of complexity. A whack of ripe, soft tannins will allow further aging as will the gobs of peppery, blackberry fruit. Toasted oak and rich extract are the story of a mammoth finish. Best value wine in the group.Tasted: 01 March 1997Tasted by: Anthony Gismondi and Stuart TobePrices:BC | $31.00 | 750ml |
