One of the most asked questions we get is which wineries should I visit in the Okanagan?
With so many Canadians forced to cancel planned trips abroad this summer, we decided the time was right to offer up some considered suggestions. The BC Wine Institute has released a new app that organizes wineries geographically, and they have added several search categories, including dog-friendly wineries, best for picnicking, organic wines and more. We decided to create a few of our own categories, and you can follow along as we launch a series of videos on GOW featuring our experienced travel trio of Anthony Gismondi, Treve Ring and DJ Kearney. Look for rapid-fire suggestions of wineries and the best wines to taste and buy while you stop for lunch or dinner or even stay overnight. Part one begins in the south Okanagan, where we discuss the beautiful views and wines, starting in the town of Osoyoos and running north to just south of the city of Penticton. See more wine suggestions below to search out along the way.
