Bartier Bros. Sémillon 2019

Oliver, Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, CanadaThe Cerqueira Vineyard slopes south-west between Oliver and Osoyoos just below Black Sage Road, collecting the late day sun. It is the domain of winemaker Michael Bartier who speaks with a richness of thought but makes wine with a sparing hand. The ferment is all wild yeast, leaving a fresh white wine laced with savoury desert scrub, figs, and grassy undertones with a lick of mineral salts. Entirely ready to drink now, but it will effortlessly age as it goes down the nutty, honey-rich road to aged sémillon. Raw oysters are the match, or a freshly picked summer salad.
