Mission Hill Quatrain 2022
Osoyoos, Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, CanadaQuatrain has been tweaked for several years since winemaker John Simes departed just over a decade ago. The goal was to give it an identity distinct from the myriad of Meritage wines on the market by increasing the syrah content. The '22 blend is a 40/33/13/13 mix of syrah, merlot, cabernet franc, and cabernet sauvignon, with grapes sourced from Osoyoos East, Black Sage, and Osoyoos West in a 79/9/2 mix. It is fermented in small, specially designed French oak fermenters and aged 19 months in French oak. In the end, Quatrain has been upping its complexity and length, blending red and black fruits to give it freshness and power while letting some of the peppery, meaty, baking spice aspects of the syrah shine. Harmonious and long, this is a wine for the cellar that won't be fully mature until 2029-2031.Tasted: 20 August 2026Tasted by: Anthony GismondiPrices:| BC | $79.99 | 750ml | winery online/direct |
