Mission Hill Quatrain 2010

Osoyoos, Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, CanadaLate bud break, cool flowering conditions followed by a cool summer posed many problems in 2010. Only low yielding blocks and meticulous picking regimes delivered any fruit worth drinking. Quatrain with its 40/20/20/30/ mix of merlot, syrah, cabernet sauvignon and cabernet franc did just that making one of the better 2010 reds in the valley. Expect a fair bit of elegance along with spicy, tobacco, meaty, chocolate, licorice cranberry aromas with flecks of cherry, sage and vanilla. Fresh, juicy, round palate with light tannins and more, cranberry, black berry, chocolate, coffee, cedar, meaty, resin flavours with a bit of poultry spice and licorice. Should continue to improve with two to four more years in bottle.Tasted: 21 September 2014Tasted by: Anthony Gismondi and Stuart TobePrices:
