Fort Berens Riesling 2022
British Columbia, CanadaOne of two riesling Fort Berens puts out every year, this classic style has more RS (9.6 g/L) than their Dry Riesling (at 3.2 g/L). This comes primarily from their Lillooet estate vineyards, with 27% from Naramata. After crushing, all had 12 hours of skin contact, fermented long and cool in stainless until the desired RS was achieved. It then rested four months on lees before bottling. The RS is gobbled up by racy tart acidity, leaving lime sherbet, green and crab apples, and delicate blossoms streaking across the light-bodied palate to a shorter finish.
