Fort Berens Riesling 2011
British Columbia, CanadaAll Lillooet fruit is the attraction here and a fresh clean nose. The attack is austere with bracing acidity and a pinch of minerality. The issue is the soapy, bitter litchi, grapefruit flavours are just a bit over the top. Still you could serve this well chilled with Indian and it would be a fine match. A good effort and definitely heading in the right direction. I would be tempted to pick the fruit earlier and reduce the alcohol to lighten up the style.Tasted: 14 July 2012Tasted by: Anthony Gismondi and Stuart TobePrices:BC | $18.00 | 750ml | vqa, private wine stores, winery direct |
