Château La Coste Grand Vin Rouge 2017

Coteaux d'Aix-en-Provence, Provence, Sud de France, FranceThis Grand Vin Rouge blends old vine Cabernet Sauvignon and Syrah from d'Aix's clay, limestone and ancient volcanic soils. After a native ferment and 2 weeks in vat, this moved to new and 1 year old barrels for 18 months, prior to 2-3 rest in bottle. Near opaque in hue, this dense dark red has wild mint, crushed rock, and medicinal notes imbuing the fleshy black cherry, wild blackberry on the full palate, ripened by the Mediterranean sun. Tannins are ample and furry, taking this to a leather and baking spiced finish. Definitely requires a decant, and lamb pairing.Tasted: 03 March 2023Tasted by: Treve RingPrices:
