Seña 2019

Valle de Aconcagua, Region de Aconcagua, ChileLast tasted in December, there is little change here. 2019 Seña mixes 60% Cabernet Sauvignon, 21% Malbec, 15% Carmenere, and 4% Petit Verdot from a cool year, at least in Panquehue. It opens with earthy, red fruit streaked with cedar and tobacco. It is tightly wound, linear, and youthful at this point, but a calm balance suggests it will have a long future in the bottle. The current finish is dry and savoury while flashing plenty of refreshing acidity. Its greatest asset is its elegance, so be patient. It is primarily fermented in stainless steel, with only 10% coming out of concrete vats, keeping the wine taut and restrained. It soaks up 80% new French oak barrels and 10% in larger wood, where it’s aged for 22 months.Tasted: 23 April 2024Tasted by: Prices:
