Gérard Bertrand La Forge 2019

Corbières, Languedoc, Sud de France, FranceLa Forge comes from a four-hectare site at Domaine de Villemajou, the birthplace of Gérard Bertrand's family, amid the celebrated Boutenac sub-appellation of Corbières. Century-old carignan vines are at the heart of the high end syrah/carignan blend. The yields are crazy low at 25hl/ha, but the results are worth it. It is a red wine that combines power with deliciousness, which is a rare treat. The nose mixes garrigue, grilled toast, and black fruit, while the palate offers rich sweet fruit and roundish tannins, forming an elegant bond that pulls you into the wine. This is an outstanding bottle of Languedoc wine.Tasted: 01 October 2022Tasted by: Anthony GismondiPrices:
