Moon Curser Petit Verdot 2020

Osoyoos, Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, CanadaPetit verdot makes up a tiny part of the Okanagan Valley red wine map, likely because it is not easy to ripen most years. Still, Moon Curser has enjoyed quite a bit of success with the variety, and 2020 is the latest version. It is a monster wine pitching powerful warm black fruit laced with licorice, graphite, and floral lavender. The palate is equally full-bodied with plenty of dry extract throughout the licorice, smoke, and blue fruit. The Osoyoos East Bench fruit is grown at Moon Curser Vineyard and is aged in 225-litre French barriques, of which 27 percent is new, and the remainder goes into neutral barrels. This will require at least ten years to settle into itself. Currently, steak lovers will have the best chance of enjoying this wine.Tasted: 17 July 2022Tasted by: Anthony GismondiPrices:
