Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, CanadaWith syrah, pinot gris and chardonnay from the Black Sage Terrace, and gewürztraminer from Summerland, this was a partial whole cluster, with the gris seeing some skin time. All were fermented in stainless, where it remained three months on lees. Pouring a deep blush hue, this is filled with juicy raspberry, strawberry jam, and apricot blossom on a smooth, silken palate, dusted with a fine sage spicing finish. Easy and friendly, ready to crack into now.Tasted: 03 August 2022Tasted by: Prices:
Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, CanadaThe origins are 41/30/25/4 gewurztraminer, chardonnay, pinot gris and syrah from the estate Cerqueira Vineyard (mostly granite glacial till with sandy loam topsoil), and a Summerland site of sandy silt topsoil on mainly granite gravel. Look for a pale soft pink colour, the Bartier Rosé calling card, and an aromatic open nose of freshly squeezed grapefruit, rosé petals, and bitter nectarine. It’s a manly version this year, bone dry and awaiting a generous charcuterie plate. The chardonnay and gewürztraminer were fermented solo in stainless steel tanks; the pinot gris fermented on skins for 12 days to achieve colour and light tannins; the syrah goes through a 17-day maceration with cultured yeast. Finally, all the varieties rested three months in stainless steel before bottling. Ready to drink.Tasted: 17 June 2022Tasted by: Prices:
