Antiyal Pura Fe Cabernet Sauvignon 2018

Valle del Maipo, Region del Valle Central, ChileIn 1996, winemaker Alvaro Espinoza and his family planted two acres of vines around their home in Maipo. In 2003, they planted their El Escorial estate in the rocky volcanic / basaltic soils of the Andean foothills with over 25 acres organic / biodynamic vines at 500m. Pura Fe means Pure Faith. This cabernet comes from 8 year old vines, native fermented in stainless before resting 10 months in French barrels (20% new). This full bodied red is chiselled with basaltic minerality, striating and framing the wild cherry, wild blackberry, subtle kirsch layered throughout. Acidity is lofted, and the long, lightly grippy tannins take this to a stony spiced finish. Great presence and freshness now, and with time ahead.Tasted: 13 January 2022Tasted by: Treve RingPrices:
