Valle del Maipo, Region del Valle Central, ChileIn 1996, winemaker Alvaro Espinoza and his family planted two acres of vines around their home in Maipo. In 2003, they planted their El Escorial estate in the rocky volcanic / basaltic soils of the Andean foothills with over 25 acres organic / biodynamic vines at 500m. Pura Fe means Pure Faith. After a native ferment in stainless, this aged 10 months in French barrels, 20% new. Black cherry, blackberry is ringed with herbaceous green branch / pitch. Tannins are firm, cradling the textured fruit to a kirsch lashed finish.
