Rodney Strong Cabernet Sauvignon Reserve 2016
Alexander Valley, Sonoma County, California, United StatesThe Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon is a 50/50 mix of Sonoma County and Alexander County fruit, specially selected from the best vineyards and blocks in the company. It spends 30 months in 50 percent new French oak, and it weighs in at 15 alcohol, although the balance would suggest it is more in the 14-14.5 percent range. 2016 was a picture perfect year for cabernet across northern California, and you can sense it from the moment you sip this rich, luscious red packed with savoury black fruit streaked with a sliver of dark chocolate. At this stage, it requires a full flavoured dinner like rack of lamb or a richly marbled steak. Otherwise, lay this away for 8-10 years and let it reach its full potential.Tasted: 04 December 2021Tasted by: Anthony GismondiPrices:CDN | $60.00 | 750ml | select private retailers |
