Sonoma County, California, United StatesThe RS Reserve Cabernet program is an on-going process that comprises the properties best Bordeaux varietals of the vintage. The wines are made in the vineyard from the finest mountaintop vines and winemaker Rick Sayre's personal selection of each and every barrel. The blend is 81/10/9 cabernet/merlot/cabernet franc aged 23 months in 52 per cent new and seasoned American oak barrels and 48 per cent new & seasoned French oak barrels. Look for a spicy, smoky coffee, cedar, black pepper and tobacco nose with cassis jam aromas and some vanilla, green bean and olive highlights. Moderately rich with good concentration and somewhat dry, tight tannins. Lots of black olive, smoky coffee, vanilla, black pepper flavours and a cedar, cassis finish.
