Painted Rock Cabernet Sauvignon 2019

Skaha Bench, Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, CanadaThe fruit was hand-picked from a 2.15-acre estate block on November 01st, and the berries were hand sorted before several small-batch, four-day cold soaks. The fermentation stretched 21 days, leading to ageing in 30% of new French oak barrels for 18 months. The style is dark and brooding with branchy, black fruit and classic youthful cabernet muscle. The tannins are well managed, dense and primarily smooth, allowing for graceful ageing through 2027 and beyond. Look for black and blue fruits and a firm dusting of sagebrush. Osso Buco or lamb shoulder would be the ticket if you drink it this year, but I would wait three to five years to get into this wine. Well done.Tasted: 12 December 2021Tasted by: Anthony GismondiPrices:
