Modest Wines The Elder Vicar 2019

Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, CanadaThis cofermented, skin contact field blend is a tip to Alsatian Edelzwickers and their easy, off-dry, aromatic profile. The name also plays homage to BC's Father Pandosy, the first to plant wine grapes in BC. This blends muscat, pinot gris, riesling, and gewurztraminer, sourced from Lazy River Vineyard, in the Similkameen. Ginger, white pepper, melon, yellow apple and yellow plum rule the sleek, streaming palate, with enough tension from the skin contact to attract attention and interest, but not to detract from the aromatic white blend. In fact, the edge and citric bitterness from time on skins works very well against the florality and fruitiness of the grapes, all finishing with a refreshing snap. An interesting project to keep an eye on.Tasted: 09 July 2021Tasted by: Prices: BC 21.99 winery online/direct Producer: Mt. Boucherie Estate WineryDistributors: The Bacchus Group Inc.
