Similkameen Valley, British Columbia, CanadaThe elder vicar refers to Father Pandosy, the first European settler in the Okanagan and a clever nod to the Alsace classic Edelzwicker, meaning a noble blend of pinot gris, riesling, gewürztraminer, and muscat. The Okanagan version is a wild, co-fermented version of muscat, riesling, pinot gris, and gewürztraminer that stopped a little earlier in 2021, leaving it decidedly off-dry. Instead, look for a bright, fresh acid base that takes on the musky, floral, lime, melon, pear, and ginger notes. It's built for spicy foods this year.Tasted: 03 March 2022Tasted by: Prices:

Similkameen Valley, British Columbia, CanadaThis cofermented, skin contact field blend is a tip to Alsatian Edelzwickers and their easy, off-dry, aromatic profile. The name also plays homage to BC's Father Pandosy, the first to plant wine grapes in BC. This blends muscat, pinot gris, riesling, and gewurztraminer, sourced from Lazy River Vineyard, in the Similkameen. Just off-dry, this perfumed blend shows jasmine, musk melon, gooseberry, ripe pear, lime, and sop on a lightly waxen palate, finishing snappily with a hearty dusting of ginger. The RS sticks out a bit, and is best met with a brisk chill and bowl of green curry.Tasted: 19 March 2022Tasted by: Prices:

Similkameen Valley, British Columbia, CanadaNamed for Father Pandosy, who was responsible for planting the first white grapes in British Columbia, this is a nod to the Edelzwicker noble blends of Alsace. It's an aromatic blend of pinot gris, riesling, gewurztraminer, and muscat that combines jasmine and orange blossoms with mandarin, lemon, and pear. There’s an appealing balance of floral perfume and clearly delineated fruit, with complexity coming from a wild fermentation that stopped early in 2021. That’s left this wine approachable and off-dry, but still well balanced thanks to a light effervescence and crisp acidity. Edelzwicker wines are meant to be fun, youthful, and easy drinking, and this checks all of those boxes.Tasted: 04 April 2022Tasted by: Prices:
