Moon Curser Cabernet Sauvignon 2017

Osoyoos, Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, CanadaSourced from Fernandes Vineyard on the Osoyoos East Bench, the fruit is sorted and destemmed for whole berry fermentation in stainless steel fermenters. This is a youthful cabernet sauvignon, with the best still yet to come. The blackcurrant and blackberry is juicy on the palate but really started to emerge on the second day the bottle was open, with a nice, complementary spiciness from the oak (33% new François Frères barrels). The tannins are a bit hard right now but should soften nicely after another 2-3 years in the bottle, and bring everything into balance. Some pyrazine character would add another dimension. Only 275 cases produced.Tasted: 14 December 2020Tasted by: Geoffrey Moss MWPrices:
