Gold Hill Cabernet Franc 2016
Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, CanadaA power red that opens with an intense, dried leaf nose reminiscent of many cabernet francs raised in cooler climates. Perhaps a bit too much heat stunted the ripening, but it is cabernet franc, and a bit of greenness is always tolerated by the enthusiasts. The palate is both ripe and oaky with a glycerol-like texture that powers through to a spicy finish. A bit of a bruiser, this is best served with grilled lamb or venison.
