Tantalus Pinot Noir 2018

Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, CanadaThe Tantalus flagship Pinot is made from multiple clones and all grown on the East Kelowna estate, within select blocks. The fruit is handpicked, vinified in small lots, and all of it is fermented wild by block, respecting their origin. Post-ferment, it is aged in oak barriques, of which 25 percent is new, for eleven months. From here, the best barrels are blended into neutral barrels and left on their fine lees for another fifteen months. It is a brooding bear at this point, with rich notes of black plums and black cherry, and somewhat boisterous, dense tannins, albeit sweet, suggesting it needs a minimum five years in bottle before it begins to reveal its final story.Tasted: 27 April 2020Tasted by: Prices:
