Tantalus Pinot Noir 2010
Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, CanadaAn oddly astringent, dry version of pinot that is hard to love at this stage. The attack is dry with bitter root notes flecked with dried cherries and floral notes. The palate is short-ish and again dry with some substantial tannins and peppery, smoky meat flavours. It tastes as if the yields might be too low. Give this some more time in bottle to see if the fruit can blossom. Try it with duck or mushroom based dishes.Tasted: 15 October 2012Tasted by: Anthony Gismondi and Stuart TobePrices:BC | $30.00 | 750ml | winery direct, VQA and private wine shops |
