Rodney Strong Sauvignon Blanc Charlotte's Home 2018
Northern Sonoma, Sonoma County, California, United StatesCharlotte’s Home Vineyard was named in honour of Rod Strong’s wife when it was planted in 1971. The original site remains at the core of the modern Charlotte’s Home, joined by selected estate vineyards in the Alexander, Russian River, and Dry Creek valleys. Winemaker Justin Seidenfeld pursues the freshness angle with this blend of sauvignons, and in 2018, he was ably assisted by a cooler spring and most typical summer and fall. The result is a lemongrass, tangerine, Meyer lemon and candied grapefruit white with an undercurrent of tropical fruit, dusted in sea salt. Try it with taco chips and cumin salsa or fresh pasta with sweet peas and a lemon cream sauce. The wine is 90 percent fermented in stainless steel with the remainder of the fruit spending time in French oak.Tasted: 14 January 2020Tasted by: Anthony GismondiPrices:BC | $23.99 | 750ml | speculative listing not stocked |
