Rodney Strong Sauvignon Blanc Charlotte's Home 2016
Northern Sonoma, Sonoma County, California, United StatesRodney Strong first established this sauvignon blanc vineyard in 1971, naming it Charlotte’s Home in honor of his wife. The same site remains the core of today’s Charlotte’s Home Sauvignon Blanc, along with select estate vineyards in the Alexander, Russian River and Dry Creek valleys. There is more freshness in 2016 versus 2015, mixing guava, citrus, orange, lime and candied grapefruit. Grassy, mineral bits sprinkle across the tropical, passionfruit palate that finish with an appealing sour note. Perfect for fish with a fruit salsa, vegetarian or pasta dishes. The ferment is 90/10 cold fermented in stainless steel tanks with no malolactic, with the latter barrel fermented in French oak barrels with full malolactic. A ripe, delicious drinking style that is a fine counter to the more aggressive New Zealand style.Tasted: 05 February 2018Tasted by: Anthony GismondiPrices:BC | $19.99 | 750ml | private wine shops |
