Stonestreet Estate Chardonnay 2017

Alexander Valley, Sonoma County, California, United StatesStonestreet Estate Vineyards stand on the western ridge of the Mayacamas Mountains above the Alexander Valley. It is hard to imagine the competition that is going on at Jackson Family Wines that’s spawning wines like the 2017 Stonestreet Chardonnay, made by winemaker Lisa Valtenbergs. 2017 is 100% barrel fermented with native yeast, goes through malolactic fermentation in barrel, and is lees stirred monthly, for ten months, in French oak (36% new). Look for a mouth-filling ripe red apple attack drenched in a moderating salinity and minerals that keep the wine fresh and taut through the backend. It is well-suited to Sonoma cuisine, and will make a nice pairing for pork with fresh herbs and new potatoes, roasted butternut squash ravioli, or whole-roasted chicken. Love the direction this wine and Sonoma chardonnay is headed.Tasted: 22 December 2019Tasted by: Anthony GismondiPrices:
