Davis Bynum Chardonnay 2016

Russian River, Sonoma County, California, United StatesA year later, this wine is showing very little evolution as it remains on its ageing track. It was grown at River West Vineyard and Westside Road in the Russian River Valley, on moderately deep, well-drained soils. The clonal mix is 30 percent clone 809, 27 percent Spring Mountain, 21 percent clone 76, 15 percent clone 15, and 7 percent clone 4; aged 12 months in French and Eastern European oak barrels, 21 percent of which were new. The attack remains fresh and bright with a firm lemon citrus acidity that sets up its creamy battonage textures and complex brioche notes. A terrific wine for seafood and a firm statement that California chardonnay continues to evolve.Tasted: 21 January 2020Tasted by: Prices:
