Davis Bynum Chardonnay 2013
Russian River, Sonoma County, California, United StatesWinemaker Greg Morthole use several clones including 809, Spring Mountain, Wente, and 76 to gain complexity. A warm vintage has yielded a slightly richer mix of creamy leesy chardonnay streaked with lemon and pears. Only 30 percent French oak leaves the palate fresh with a mix of apricot, honey, brown spices with bits of vanilla and hazelnut. Well made for a warm year and still food friendly. Could it be a bit skinnier? We think so but we are fine with the evolution of this brand so far.Tasted: 17 January 2015Tasted by: Anthony Gismondi and Stuart TobePrices:BC | $30.00 | 750ml | speculative listing - Mark Anthony Brands |
