Painted Rock Malbec 2015
Skaha Bench, Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, CanadaViolets and wild blackberry flood this fleshy palate, scented with blueberry and clad with finely grippy tannins. The wood (18 months in French, 30 percent of which was new) is handily absorbed by the fruit density, leaving structure and an alluring spiciness on the finish. Malbec can easily absorb the 15.2 percent that the Okanagan can easily produce. I'd love to see this estate wine tweaked leaner / earlier in the future, but for now would enjoy this very much with beef tenderloin with caramelized root veg.Tasted: 19 December 2017Tasted by: Treve Ring & Anthony GismondiPrices:BC | $42.99 | 750ml | BCLS |
