Clos de los Siete 2013
Valle de Uco, Tunuyán, Central Region, Mendoza, ArgentinaThis well known blend is made from a mix of fruit grown by a group of Bordeaux-based partners involved in the Clos de la Siete project at Vista Flores in the southern Uco Valley. Each year the blend is organized by Michel Rolland, the owner of Bodega Mariflor, mixing malbec, merlot cabernet sauvignon and syrah all aged in used French oak. It’s my experience that French in Argentina and Chile for that matter are a good match for the savoury rich fruit. There is always more elegance then you might expect. Expect an expressive red with rich but balanced black fruit flavours streaked with floral licorice, cocoa powder notes. The tannins are dense but sweet and this will hold admirably through 2020. Serve now with a classic T-bone steak.Tasted: 22 June 2017Tasted by: Anthony GismondiPrices:BC | $25.99 | 750ml | BCLS |
