Clos du Soleil Rosé 2016

Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, CanadaA nice improvement over last year. In 2016 they have made this a 60/40 cabernet franc/cabernet sauvignon blend, introducing the fresh herbaceousness of the franc into the mix - a welcome addition. Wild raspberry, cherry, red currant and rhubarb finish clean and brisk and stony, at a welcome 13 percent. This is on the full-bodied end of the spectrum so you can bring on the grilled poultry or pork and it will stand up. It’s still too dark in hue to have that magic look, but it’s a solid achievement, and one we're happy to drink.Tasted: 23 May 2017Tasted by: Anthony Gismondi and Treve RingPrices:
