Blue Mountain Reserve Pinot Gris 2014
Okanagan Falls, Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, CanadaFull and creamy, this reserve is a mix of two clones from 27-year-old vines grown at Blue Mountain's Okanagan Falls estate. Thirty percent was fermented and aged in French oak for eight months, and that wood is evident in the cedar-scented perfume, toast, and vanilla pod perfume that lingers, perfectly, across the finish. Orchard pear, meadow herbs, orange blossoms, pink salts all sit atop a creamy pillow of lees. While quite proper already it still presents too youthful at this age - a rare thing to say about BC 2014 pinot gris. Give it time to open up in the bottle, or in your glass if you are tempted to taste it now.Tasted: 15 May 2017Tasted by: Treve Ring & Anthony GismondiPrices:BC | $27.90 | 750ml | winery direct, private wine shops |
