Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, CanadaWe can do merlot in BC when we put our mind to it and it can be hedonistic too. Ripe, full, dusty cherry fruit flecked with pepper and espresso notes mark a full-flavoured palate. The reserve level merlot contains bits of cabernet franc, cabernet sauvignon, petit verdot all grown in the Okanagan south in Oliver and Osoyoos. It spends 13 months in French and American oak adding more texture. Solid and will improve in the bottle over the next two years. Best with lamb or beef dishes.Tasted: 11 August 2017Tasted by: Prices:

Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, CanadaDense and ripe, with roasted sweet black plums, roasted coffee, roasted meats throughout. This reserve tier merlot (aided by cabernet franc, cabernet sauvignon, petit verdot) was grown in estate vineyards in both Osoyoos and just further north, on the Black Sage Bench. The 13 months in French and American oak is evident through the strident, bitter tannins, finishing with an astringent espresso burn (14.5 percent). Overly brash and aggressive in this youthful state, and requiring richer meat dishes to tame.Tasted: 02 February 2017Tasted by: Prices:
